Due to new safety regulations for airports gate 1 of the Düsseldorf airport had to be re-erected and gate 36 had to be reformed. The gates are for controlling persons and vehicles that pass the borderline between air and overland area of the airport. The person security checks take place in 3 building units on site that quickly had to be installed. The vehicle traffic is controlled in access points that are regulated by barrier gates.
Three one-storey prefabricated buildings were erected with robust and easy to clean furniture and automatic sliding doors. Thermal insulation values exceed the legal requirements, noise and fire protection was provided due to the proximity to the airfield.
Especially in the security areas great importance was attached to a short construction period and that only one partner was responsible for the execution. These requirements were particularly fulfilled by the SÄBU modular construction.
